Trust & transparency

Know what Copy2Deck does with your files

Copy2Deck is built around direct local connections, understandable permissions, and releases you can verify.

Local by design

Your files stay between your PC and your Deck.

Copy2Deck connects to the Steam Deck over SSH and SFTP on your local network. Files are transferred directly between those devices; Copy2Deck does not upload your files to a cloud storage service.

The app does not require an account or subscription. Connection settings and backup profiles are stored locally on your Windows PC.

Release confidence
01

Verify every download

Each release includes a SHA-256 checksum file. Compare the checksum before running a download if you want to confirm the file was not changed.

02

Read the release notes

Version history documents new behavior and important limitations. Current releases are published from the separate private application repository.

03

Understand the warning

Copy2Deck is not code-signed yet. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning for direct downloads. That warning is about publisher reputation, not a claim that the file was modified.
